Brigade To-Do (November)
Man these are becoming monthly, aren't they?! Okay, time for some updates!
001) I put out a Private Plurk to all of you a while ago but the SOS-Brigade has badges now. Haruhi will always be wearing it and expecting Brigade members to as well. Something she will also encourages is people taking extras to give out to people (in Luceti or from other enclosures that they meet in missions or drafts) who are "honorary" Brigade members. That is, people you've spread the message of the Brigade to and who you think will uphold it. While the badges are primarily cosmetic, Leon also made them out of a special material which increases physical strength by 10% and reduces mana/energy/whatever expended while using magic by 10%.
002) Pirates Versus Ninja Dodgeball. I really need a write up for it, but I will have Haruhi gathered initial interest for it in her post... but I would really appreciate someone else making a post which announces it properly, perhaps linking a write up for the full rules and functions I write or helping me to write one up. Ideally, we will get this off the ground and ready to go by somewhere around November 15th. I think that's manageable and we can pull it off! But yeah I'd love someone else to play at least announcement if not MC for it. I'll be perfectly willing to help you in any capacity you need.
003) It's not threaded yet, but Shira has told me Katara will be asking Haruhi about the Welcome Center and the SOS-Brigade making an agreement about transitioning counselling. That is, putting your names on a list of names for New Feathers to come talk to. The Brigade is still nominally a Support Group, and while they have not don a lot of therapy, Haruhi would leap all over this. So what I ask is this: If you would like your character to be on that list of viable people (OOCly - ICly, Haruhi can and will just sign up whoever) could you please tell me here? So that I can have a more concrete list.
004) That raffle that Duplica ran last month I'll be announcing the winners for in Haruhi's new post, circa tomorrow. If you want to last minute enter your characters or encourage friends to, go for it.
005) The Thieving Caper will probably not end up happening in November unless it is late November. That said, Haruhi has by now contacted the SSS and that is something which is still on the horizon. Yeah. Err.
006) The Submarine is also still on the horizon. Howard Stark got back and apparently started work on it again so if your character was assigned for unskilled labor on it, assume they have been helping him out for the last while unless they had other obligations like say missions, the draft, etc.
007) A new Deputy-Vice-Chief has not been chosen yet, but Haruhi is still claiming it will be picked on merit at the Brigade meetings. If that effects how your character will be like. Acting and stuff.
008) Starting in November, Haruhi's going to be pushing the Brigade to celebrate Japanese holidays/festivals. This is a little skeletal calender I've put together of the relevant ones I could think of:
Obviously, it would be unreasonable to make a big celebration/post/log about all of them. But if you want to mention them or elude to them in posts over the next year or if you want to know your characters did *something* with the Brigade for them, there's that. The ones in bold are ones I would like to organize some sort of post/log for when they come up and the ones in italics are ones fairly well covered in Luceti anyway.

Ninja v Pirates "Dodgeball" Plan
- You do not need to be a pirate or a ninja to participate. Pirates do not even need to be on the pirate team or vice-versa. You merely need to pick/represent one side (...or be anyone else caught in the crossfire)
- The Brigade will set up "way points" run by members of the Brigade all over town. These points will have people's "balls" However, the balls will be water balloons being filled up and dripped with food coloring for the water on the spot by whatever Brigade member of manning the spots. I figure we probably need five or six around the village?
- Pirates and Ninja both get a Home Base where they can get their "skins" and what marks them as being on whichever team. Because it's not enough time for custom T-shirts, the "skin" will be giving everyone white T-shirts which can be stained by the food-colored water balloons if you're hit (in theory). The symbols for each team will be an arm band with either a jolly roger or a shuriken on them. Home Base for the ninja will be the first floor hallway of Community Building 1 and Home Base for pirates will be the Barracks. I figure we need one Brigade member at each of these points.
- Haruhi would at lease propose that members of the Brigade wear Brigade armbands and later in the day turn on both sides to secure victory of the SOS-Brigade. If people follow through on this is up to them.
- Given it's overcast and windy on the 15th, I imagine the "scoring" (who is the colorfulest loses) will be a non-issue. Everyone is simply too wet and cold to declare a victor.
- "Cheating" - the only form of cheating is removing, destroying, or replacing your or anyone else's shirt or armband. Special powers are otherwise allowed. There is no switching sides allowed, obviously.
So for this we will need:
- Someone to make an IC post announcing this (Linton volunteered) - I'm not sure if this should just be day of beforehand
- an OOC post announcing this - this will definitely have to be beforehand given it's sort of hijacking the village... if everyone thinks this plan looks cool I'll put up one
- 2 Brigade members to manage both of the bases to check for cheating (and to be ready to turn on the other teams)
- 5 or 6 people to man the balloon stations? These could also be unmanned, or perhaps unmanned with the assuming a group of one or two Brigadiers are going around checking them.
Ideas? Thoughts? Insights? Seem solid?
